The Made In Newcastle Gallery Listings
Made In Newcastle is located at 79 Granger Street, Newcastle. The Gallery is a free to visit space and is situated at the back of the Made In Newcastle retail space, all the artists are local and members of Made In Newcastle.
2nd April – 9th April - Made In Newcastle presents – Chloe Mercer, ‘I should have been a Secret Agent’. Experimental Photography questioning notions of observation an enquiring into limitations enforced by moral conditions.
9th -16th April - Made In Newcastle presents – Paul Thompson, ‘Tales of the Hollow Earth : Cosmology' Photography, Illustration and Digital Art. Monsters and Mathematics.
16th – 23rd April - Made In Newcastle presents – Yve Ngoo and Karina Neilsen, ‘@Home with MIN’ A promotional event of home wears produced from recycled, resourced and re-imagined textiles, including a table set for the Mad Hatters Tea Party.
23rd- 30th April – Made In Newcastle presents - Local artists Len Allwood, Mandeep Chohan, and Chris Folwell form a collaboration for a themed exhibition , exploring the concepts of Anthropomorphism and change. ‘Metamorphosis’ With a background in animation, illustration and fine art, the local artists each deliver their own individual take on this fabled transition.
30th April – 7th May – Made In Newcastle presents - Peter Benn, ‘The Path of the Butterfly Artist’ An enjoyable ramble through the meandering artistic life of a professional photographer featuring, Photography, Painting, Jewellery and Engraved Glass.
7th – 14th May - Made In Newcastle presents – Lewis Latimer, ‘Photography on the Edge’, Superb photographs by a brilliant local photographer.
14th – 21st May - Made In Newcastle presents – ‘Newcastle Fashion Week’ Made In Newcastle (MiN) the empty shop project based on 79 Grainger Street is delighted to be supporting the first Newcastle Fashion week from 14th - 21st May.
As a hub for all things handmade, MiN will be showcasing the work of local fashion designers and fashion students with a specially themed fashion week shop. As well as all the usual creative offerings the shop will be transforming their gallery space into an indy fashion boutique, where you will be able to purchase the work of some of the region's hottest emerging talent.
MiN will also be hosting a number of events and workshops as well as free talks from the city centre Library.
The fun will kick off with a textile swap on Sunday 15th May. Full details of all events will be posted on the blog: www. madeinnewcastle.blogspot.com/
During the week there will be limted edition goody bags to get your hands on (as part of indy shop crawl), special offers and discounts.

21st- 25th May - Made In Newcastle presents – ‘K. Villain, The Fashion Pictures’ - Come in to Made In Newcastle, during Newcastle Fashion Week, and have your fashion photo taken by photographer K. VILLAIN - (we shoot between the 15th-18th of May) - and you can become part of the following weeks exhibition, (21st-25th of may) portraying fashion in Newcastle, and even buy your own framed black and white photograph, for eternal proof, that you rock!
25th – 31st May - Made In Newcastle presents – ‘The Made In Newcastle Retrospective’. A look back at some of the fabulous art and artists who’ve exhibited at the MIN gallery over the last year.
